Matha, Pitha, Guru, Deivam is a very popular adage is the Sanskrit language which means when it comes to pay respect, ‘Mother’ is throne who comes first , then the rest and worshiped as Goddess.

On 19th Feb 2022, students of Std X and their mothers had assembled at the Chinmaya Vidyalaya CBSE to take part in Matru Puja, with great reverence.

Chinmaya School started this culture to instill moral values in the minds of children and to faster love and respect towards mother. Today this culture has how became habitation and followed every year.

The traditional ceremony started at 6.30 p.m. in the presence of Pujya Swami Krutatmanandaji, the resident acharya of Chinmaya Mission Hubballi. The children washed feet of their mothers, applied Chandana and Kumkum and offered flowers. They seeked the blessings of their mother by worshipping and feeding sweets to them.

The most promising moment of the day was taking oath by the children always to take care of their parents and be loyal and obedient to them till the end.

Pujya Swamiji, in his ashirvachana, advised them to value the unconditional love of their parent and told them to be thankful to them for  everything they do.

The programme ended with Shanti Mantra and Prasad distribution.
