Workshop on Teaching Strategies/methodologies in English

CBSE Chennai conducted an online training session on the topic Teaching statergies / methodologies in English (speaking) to improve the teaching methods in English language to improve the speaking skills of the students. The resource person Mrs. Neeru Arora, through this session, shared on improving the language skills of the students i.e ‘LSRW’ specially speaking skills. She spoke about various innovation methods teachers can we to improve the spoken language (English) speaking at primary level. She even told that language should become a habit building process and teachers to be receivers and students to be the givers of learning process. 

Workshop on Story telling as Pedagogy

CBSE Chennai zone  conducted an online training session on the topic – “Story telling as Pedagogy”. The resource person Mrs.Naga Suryavathy Adapa, principal of Harvest International School from Bengaluru highlighted various topics of language  and core subjects. She even spoke about the me of different art form to be used to introduce various concepts even in science, maths and social. She even suggested various tools teacher could explore to improvise their teaching statergies. She  even made us aware about the NEP and story telling being introduced recently for creative teaching learning for the students and teachers.

Global awarness about Vision Physical D- Health Education 08-10-2020

‘World Sight Day’ is observed on every second thursday of October each year. This day tries to create global awareness about vision impairment and blindness. Such an awareness was created in Chinmaya Vidyalaya CBSE wing also. Few important measures were shared with everybody. The measures are 20-20-20 technique. Every 20 minutes spend 20 seconds looking at something 20 feet away. This helps to relax eye muscles.

  • Keep blinking 10-15 times/min.
  • Bend slight and keep 20 inches distance between eyes and screen.
  • 3B policy – Break, Blink and Bend.

Gandhi Jayanthi

1511th  birth anniversary of Shri Mahatma Gandhiji and  1161th  birth anniversary of Shri lal Bahadurshatriji. All the teachers of the Chinmaya family made the programme a grand success. Three celebrations were observed on this day:

  • Birth anniversary of Shri Mahatma Gandhiji
  • Birth anniversary of Shri lal Bahadur Shastriji
  • Khadi Day- A rally was conducted.

A couple of teachers speeches were made by the teachers. Favorite bhajans of Shri Mahatma Gandhiji were sung with all devotion and cheer.

Chinmaya Vision Programme

Chinmaya Vision Programme concretises Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmanandaji’s vision on Education.

“How is the vision, so is the world”

This programme was conducted for the new members of Chinmaya family. It was a seminar and explanation of CVP presentation, activities and followed by a questionnaire session. Teachers were also made aware about the important values and their connection with the academic concepts.

Sanskrit Day (03/08/2020)

Sanskrit day is an annual event focused around the ancient Indian language. It aims at its revival and maintenance. It is celebrated on shravanpoornima. It is believed to have originated 3500years ago.

It is the mother of all Indian languages, most computer friendly language. Sanskrit is the window to Indias grand cultural heritage.

A speech on importance of S.K was presented in the assembly. Few simple words and sentences were also taught.

 

Art Integrated Projects

Art Integrated projects aim at enabling and enriching the students’ Universal outlook and patriotism. The students here at Chinmaya English Primary School have taken up this project with utmost excitement. They have come up with wonderful and amazing drawings, paintings, poetry, essays based on Uttarakhand’s culture, customs, tradition, art and architecture. Children’s day Celebration

On the auspicious day of children’s’ day teaching and Non-teaching staff came to together to celebrate children’s day at Chinmaya English Primary School. It was held in the morning at 9am.

As Children’s day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Jawaharlal Nehru, who was extremely fond of children, the programme clearly depicted the spirit of the occasion.

The children’s day programme had a series of interesting and exciting events, all planned meticulously for a complete entertainment. The programme began with an invocation song. The teaching faculty presented humorous skits which left a lasting impact on the students. A variety of events ranging from folk song, dance and march past. The celebration ended on a good note.

Celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31st Oct 2020

As per the circular sent by the CBSE Board, Chinmaya Vidyalaya ( CBSE) observed “ The National Unity Day “ on 31st October 2020. It also co – insides with the celebration of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. The day started with a prayer followed by a speech highlighting the major role and contributions of Sardar Vallabhai Patel in unification of independent India. Later, an oath taking ceremony called ‘Rashtriya Ekta Pledge’, as instructed by the Board was also organized where every member of the school and school students ( through online) took active part in it to uphold its pride.

The school , on the eve of its celebration , conducted online competition for the students from Std 6th to 10th which included essay writing, slogan writing, poem, poster making revolving around the theme ‘ Rashtriya Ekta ‘ or ‘Unity in Diversity’. Many students took active part in it though it was conducted virtually.

The best ones selected by the teachers are being uploaded to the link sent by the CBSE board. A few students took part in the online quiz competition organized by the Department of school and literacy and received a certificate of appreciation from the same.

On the whole the school succeeded in upholding the theme ‘Rashtriya Ekta ‘ through its celebration in a befitting manner.

Hindi Saptah

Hindi Saptaha was observed from 7th to 14th September 2020. All the Hindi teachers got a chance to speak on each day on various prominent Hindi scholars , authors and poets about their rich contribution to Hindi literature In connection with this many interesting competitions were conducted to enhance Hindi language among the teachers.All of them participated with great enthusiasm and made the week a special one.
