Shri Krishna Janmashtami celebration 2019

Festivals are celebrated and characterised by colour gaiety enthusiasm, prayer and rituals.   Like every year this year too a special assembly on Janmashtami was organized by Chinmaya   institution .  The programme started with devotional song following by welcoming the chief guest Param Pujya Mataji Tejomai .

The highlight of the day were the cradle ceremony of  Lord Krishna and ‘Dahi Handi’ which mesmerised  the audience and added solemnity to the occasion. Many students presented graceful dances and melodious bhajans. The Guest, in her speech, spoke about the significance of the day and reincarnation of Lord Vishnu in the form of Lord Krishna on the auspicious day of Janmashtami. She also narrated a few stories on childhood life of Lord Krishna which captivated the attention of the children and was enjoyed by all the Management member, Principals and the whole Chinmaya family enjoyed the occasion till the end and later Prasad was distributed to all.

Bone Day ( camp by IOA) Indian Orthopedia Association

The programme was conducted to commemorate Bone Day ( 4th August) initiated by Indian Orthopaedic Association. The Guest speaker was Dr Veerendra Bhasme (KIMS) who enlightened the students about bone care , bone Density, Diet to keep our bones healthy etc.He also stressed on systematic life style to be followed in the present day situations. Lack of care leads to disastrous bone issues. More importance was laso given for all age groups to adhere to a strict and a balanced diet. Dr Veeerendra Bhasme pointed out that good consumption of calcium and phosphate in balanced quantities will make and keep our bones healthy even in old age.

 

CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME ( ENGLISH)

The workshop was headed by the KV Principal of Chennai and assisted and initiated by the CBSE Regional Office, Chennai. It was basically an interesting workshop which enabled the teachers to know the problems teachers( face) in their class rooms. The English teachers need to incorporate different techniques. A few new techniques introduced were – “THE DEAR period’  ‘Lesson Plans’, ‘Bloom’s Taxonomy’, ‘Story writing’, ‘Objectives’ of LSRW’ and ‘Framing a Good Question paper’ (balanced

VERBATTLE – 2019

State level debate competition in English was conducted in Bengaluru from 28th July to 3rd August. Like the previous years, this year too our Chinmaities have rocked the stage of “Verbattle” by coming out victorious as the WINNERS of the State level Debate competition 2019. Neelchandan Patil and Koushal Kedari of Std X bagged the title of the winners of this Debate challenge. After debating a series of tough levels – like Skirmish with 81 teams like Combat with 27 teams – like Confrontation with 9 teams and finally the faceoff with 3 teams. Our school Chinmaya Vidyalaya came up victorious. ( Mrs Maria Susainathan ) Their counterparts were Delhi Public school, Bengaluru and St. Lawrence school, Bengaluru.

INVESTITURE CEREMONY – 2019

The “Investiture Ceremony” was conducted in the State Board wing on 26th June 2019. The Chief Guest was Black cat Commando A Vivekanda. The Guest inspired the students of class10 and the leaders who were to be honoured that day. He spoke about discipline and asked the students to join Army or even NCC camps to render their services to the country. The Guest gave a positive compliment about the Chinmaya culture. He was quite impressed with the behaviour and discipline of our students.

Independence day 2019

73rd Independence day was celebrated in Chinmaya Vidyalaya. Mr.R.N.Murthy trustee of the Chinmaya Seva Samithi hoisted the national flag.  Speeches by Std 10 students was held in English. The Valedictory function of Sanskrit Saptah was held the same day. Shri.Shrinidhi spoke on the importance on the Sanskrit in the Sanskrit language. Children sang patriotic songs in Hindi and Sanskrit. The function concluded with Shanti mantra.

Science Hub 03/08/2019

“Science Hub” a cluster of seven schools was formed and following points were discussed.

  • Five minutes before winding the class Exit cards to be distributed, where the child will write about the concepts understood and doubtful.
  • Anectodal Records of every students has to be maintained, which should contain

        * Index

        * Achievements

        * Academic documents

  • Question papers and answer scripts to be exchanged (preparatory  exam)                 
  • Inter school competitions to be conducted.
  • Schools participated were:

Quizmania 27/06/2019

A house wise quiz competition ‘Quizmania’, was conducted for the high school students. It was organized by the English Department under the leadership of Mrs. Amruta G. There were five rounds.

1) Homophones   2) Pick me up   3) Visual round ‘Identify the characters’

4) Authors and books   5) Rapid fire round. The audience had a riddle round just to encourage their involvements. All the participants and present audience took active part in the quiz competition. The winner were Vyasa House and Valmiki House stood as runners up.

On the whole the competition got a good response and the winners were awarded with prizes and certificated by the Principal Smt. Arundhati Naik.

 

School Election 2019-20

Election is a mechanism by which people can choose their representatives at regular intervals. In our school, Elections are conducted in the same manner as it is conducted by Central and State Government. Many students filed their nomination letters. The P.E teachers scrutinized the list and selected about ten students for election. Finally, the election day was on 19/06/2019 i.e Wednesday. The students from Std VI to X cast their vote in the polling booth. After counting, the final results were declared by our Principal Smt. Arundhati Naik at the end of the day. The following students were victorious.

  • Boy Commander – Sampath Halyal
  • Girl’s Commander – Bhavani Inamdar
  • Sports Secretary(Boy)- Ganesh Pawar
  • Sports Secretary(Girl)- Mithi Hasabi

House-wise captains and vice-captains were also selected.

Chinmaya Vision Programme 31/7/2019

Chinmaya Vision Programme is initiated to enshrine the “Chinmaya Vision” in the hearts of the students and teachers of CVS.

This programme is a comprehensive education strategy identified under four heads, viz,

  • Integrated Development
  • Indian Culture
  • Patriotism
  • Universal outlook

Connecting the concepts with CVP values, in the lesson plan was also covered, through a ppt presentation. Some brain teasing activities were conducted.Few videos sent by CCMT were also shown in the programme.
